Background: “Pop Into Iconic Eyewear” is a playful branding project that pairs Ray-Ban sunglasses with famous Pop Art portraits by Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Alex Katz. The idea was to treat Ray-Bans not just as accessories, but as part of the art, something iconic worn by icons.​​​​​​​

Concept: The tagline has a double meaning: “Pop” refers to Pop Art, but also to the everyday moment of popping on a pair of sunglasses and instantly feeling a little cooler. The project is designed for creative, culturally engaged women, people who know and love art, and who appreciate the confidence that comes with a great pair of sunglasses.

Design Process:  I started by researching which artworks were considered the most iconic for each artist. At the same time, I looked at Ray-Ban’s past campaigns, which often focus on recognizable faces and a sense of timelessness. Bringing these two worlds together felt natural: iconic faces + iconic eyewear.

Design Solution:  The final campaign shows each portrait confidently wearing Ray-Bans, blending art history with modern style. The sunglasses become the hero element while still respecting the original artwork.

Key decisions included:  Cropping for focus so the eyewear is always the focal point; Blending the sunglasses naturally into each 
painting; Matching angles for a believable, seamless look; Using Ray-Ban’s brand colors and mid-century inspired type to tie everything together. 

Overall, the project creates a fun but elevated way to experience Ray-Ban, showing how a simple accessory can connect everyday style with iconic art.
